I have participated in a local event called the Rankin Cancer Run for the last couple of years.  All funds raised go directly to the regions cancer research and care facilities.  This is an event that is near and dear to my heart having several family members beat or pass from cancer.  I run for my father who beat prostate cancer, my god mother who beat breast cancer, my grandpa who passed from pancreatic cancer, and my uncle who passed from liver cancer.  This year I will also be running for some very close family friends of my husband who are currently fighting cancer.
